The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the |Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 notification inviting online applications for prestigious services like IAS, IPS, IFS, and other Central Services. Eligible candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree can apply online through the official UPSC portal within the prescribed dates. The selection process includes Prelims → Mains → Interview (Personality Test). This examination offers an opportunity to join top administrative and diplomatic services of the Government of India.
Read Carefully :-
1. Already IAS/IFS (from earlier CSE): Cannot appear in CSE-2026.
2. Already IPS (from earlier CSE): Can appear in CSE-2026, but cannot opt for IPS again.
3. Allotted IPS/Group ‘A’ service through CSE-2026: One improvement attempt allowed in CSE-2027 (one-time exemption).
4. Selected in CSE-2026 but didn’t join training or take exemption: 2026 service will be cancelled.
5. Appears in CSE-2027 after taking exemption: If a better service is allotted, choose between 2026 or 2027; the other will be cancelled.
6. Appears in CSE-2027 but gets no service: Can go back and join the 2026 service.
7. Doesn’t join training of final chosen service (2026/2027): Both services will be cancelled.
8. After using improvement attempt (2027): Cannot appear in CSE-2028 or later without resigning.
9. Already in any service from CSE-2025 or earlier: One chance to appear in either CSE-2026 or CSE-2027 without resigning.
10. Wants to appear in CSE-2028 or later: Must resign first.
